James Gifford, 90, died at his home in Rensselaerville last Saturday, March 25. Born in Berne, May 18, 1887, the son of the late Albert and Mary Hope Gifford, he served in the Navy during World War I and was a member of the Clark White American Legion Post, whose officers and members conducted a service at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville Tuesday evening. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Daisy) Schanz of Middleburgh; a son, Clinton Gifford of Rensselaerville, and 10 grand-children. Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Cunningham Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard B. Clark, pastor of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Rensselaerville, officiating. Interment will be in Rensselaerville Cemetery.
