Joel Bronk Cole was born in Berne Dec. 1845<ref>1900 census New Scotland</ref>, the son of [[Teunis T. Cole]] and Caturah<ref>1850 census Berne</ref>Warner. His brother [[Datus J. Cole]] died in the war.

==Marriage & Children==
After 1 June 1870 he md. in New Scotland Catharine Elizabeth Flansburgh b. Apr 1852 dau. of John J. Flansburgh and Martha Sophial Silver<ref>[[Berne Historical Project]]</ref>. They had a nine children.<ref>1910 Coxsackie census</ref>. Six of the children were:<ref>1900 New Scotland census</ref>
