==Birth==
Frederick was born in May of 1764, [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornwall,_Connecticut Cornwall, Sharon, CT] to Edward Bumpus and Susannah Dean. Frederick was a 5th generation American. His Bumpus ancestors descended from Edouad Bompasse, who came to America in 1621 on the Ship Fortune the first ship after the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayflower_(ship) Mayflower].

==Education==
Frederick's education was likely minimal, as he could spell his name but not well.

==Marriage==
Frederick's marriage location is not known,nor is the name of his wife, but he was likely married in [[Rensselaerville]] where his first three known children were born. These children were:

==Military Service==
In June of 1781, Frederick was drafted into the Continental Army for 1 month and again in April of 1882. He served under Marinas Willott in the Mohawk Valley until the end of 1882, primarily as a scout. His brother Reuben served five hitches in the Revolutionary War and was in the battles of Bennington and Saratoga.

==Life Events==
Frederick moved to [[Rensselaerville]] with his brother, Reuben, from their fathers farm at Little Hoosick, now Petersburg in East Manor, Rensselaer County, NY. where they lived from 1773. In [[Rensselaerville]] he leased [[Lot 250]] consisting of 159 1/2 acres, on November 7, 1783 and again November 29, 1797, where he farmed. In 1807, Frederick moved on, working as a farm hand around upstate New York until he settled in [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richland_County,_OH. Richland County, Ohio].

==Death==
Frederick died in 1840 in [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richland_County,_OH Richland County, Ohio]. He was buried there in the Marlow Graveyard in [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mansfield,_Connecticut Mansfield, Richland Co. OH].
