Mr. Brandow was a graduate of the Class of 1939 of the Gilboa Central School.<ref name="bran"/>

Richard married Florence Bates and had daughter Sandra Brandow.<ref name="bran"/>

==Occupation==
He was a long-time farmer in Potter Hollow and had retired from the Town of Rensselaerville Highway Department after 25 years of service.<ref name="bran"/>

Mr. Brandow served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, and was discharged as a sergeant.<ref name="bran"/>

==Death==
Richard died Saturday, December 7, 1996, at the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, New York.<ref name="bran"/>

Funeral services with the Rev. Charles Williams officiating were Tuesday, December 10, 1996, from the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville. Spring interment will be in the Manorkill Cemetery.<ref name="bran"/>

'''Medusa''' - ''Richard L. Brandow, 76, died Saturday at the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. He was born in the town of Conesville on Jan. 27, 1921, son of the late Harter and Grace Wilkerson Brandow. A graduate of the Class of 1939 of the Gilboa Central School, he served in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II, and was discharged as a sergeant. He was a long-time farmer in Potter Hollow and had retired from the Town of Rensselaerville Highway Department after 25 years of service. Richard waa a member of Clark White Post 589, American Legion, the Gilboa Lodge 630, F&AM, and a former member of the Conesville Volunteer Fire Company and the Tri-Village Volunteer Fire Company. He was an enthusiastic bowler and golfer. Surviving are his wife, Florence Bates Brandow; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and James West of Medusa; his grandson, Curtis West, and his wife, Rose, of Durham, North Carolina; his great-grandchildren, Nicole, Stephanie, and Theodore West; and nieces and nephews. A brother, Raymond Brandow, is deceased. Funeral services with the Rev. Charles Williams officiating were Tuesday from the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville. Spring interment will be in the Manorkill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the town of Rensselaerville Ambulance Fund or to the St. Peter's Hudson Valley Hospice, 47 Liberty St., Catskill, NY 12414.''
