Francisco Barton was born in Wright, Schoharie Co., NY in 1842, a son of Martin and Nancy Barton <ref name="1850 census"> 1850 census, Wright, Schoharie Co., NY</ref>

==Marriage & Children== 
In or about 1877, he married Mary Whitehead who was born at about 1857. <ref name="1900 census"> 1900 census, Nunda, Livingston Co., New York</ref>

==Occupation==
Francisco was a farmer and according to the 1871-72 business directory was also the proprietor of a grist mill in Rensselaerville.
