Benjamin was born at about 1765 in Dutchess County, NY, a son of [[Bio: Prosser, Jonathan Dr.|Jonathan Prosser]] and Phebe Russell. <ref name="Bernehistory">bernehistory.org</ref>


==Marriage & Children== 
At about 1785 in Coeymans, he married Catherine Wendell who was born at about 1766<ref name="Bernehistory">bernehistory.org</ref>.  Their known children:
*John W. Prosser was born at about 1786, married Esther Chapman<ref name="Bernehistory"/>
*Henry Prosser<ref name="John W. Prosser Will">Will of John W. Prosser, Westerlo Proven September 29, 1871</ref> born December 13, 1788, married Eliza F. Pinant<ref name="Bernehistory"/>
*Jonathan Prosser born about 1790<ref name="John W. Prosser Will"/>
*Polina Prosser, born about 1792  married a Stanton<ref name="John W. Prosser Will"/>
*Catherine Maria Prosser born about 1795, wife of John Mead<ref name="John W. Prosser Will"/>
*Abraham Prosser born about 1797, married Sally McVicar and Ann Clickner. <ref name="John W. Prosser Will"/>
*Elizabeth “Betsey” Prosser born about 1800, married  Thomas Seaman<ref name="John W. Prosser Will"/>

==Death==
Catherine died in 1834 at Westerlo<ref name="Bernehistory">bernehistory.org</ref>.  Her burial was at the Prosser Family Burial Ground.  Benjamin’s death presumably took place in Westerlo sometime before 1850.  No marker exists for him at the Prosser Burial Ground.
