Mr. Brown married Helen Golden. They had no children.[1]

He was employed at Clifford B. Hannay & Son, Inc. until injuries received in an automobile accident forced an early retirement.[1]

Lou was a World War II veteran, serving with the 5th Division of the US Marine Corps on Iwo Jima.[1]

Mr. Brown passed away at his home in Greenville on October 1, 2000.[1]

GREENVILLE -- Lewis G. Brown, 78 years, of Greenville, NY, passed away suddenly at his home on October 1, 2000. He was born in South Westerlo, NY on January 19, 1922, son of the late Grover C. and Elizabeth (Evans) Brown. Lou was a World War II veteran, serving with the 5th Division of the US Marine Corps on Iwo Jima. He was employed at Clifford B. Hannay & Son, Inc. until injuries received in an automobile accident forced an early retirement. He was a member of the 5th Marine Division Association and the Northern Berkshire Amateur Radio Club. He was a former member of the Greenville American Legion Post #291, the Westerlo Vol. Fire Co. and a former Town Constable for the Town of Westerlo. Surviving are his wife, Helen (Golden) Brown; a brother-in-law, Carl Webb of Voorheesville, NY; and a nephew, Donald Webb and his wife, Eileen of Clarence Center, NY. He was predeceased by a sister, Verona Webb. As to his wishes, cremation will be at the Albany Rural Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, NY.
