Birth
George W. Laraway was born in 1830 in Berne[1] to Peter Laraway (B. Nov 30, 1802, D. Apr 4, 1879) and Olivia Bernet (B. Aug 20, 1808, D. unk) and was one of ten children.[2]
Marriage & Children
On April 6, 1858 George married Nancy Lourie in Schoharie, Schoharie Co, NY.[2] She was the daughter of George Lourie and Barbara Lemon, and was born in June of 1837.[2] They had the following children:
- Franklin Laraway (B. Dec 27, 1858, D. unk)[2]
- Peter Laraway (B. Dec 18, 1862, D. Apr 12, 1911)[2]
- James Laraway (B. May 21, 1863, D. unk)[2]
After George's death, Nancy married John J. Williman. They had no children.

Life
George's oldest child Franklin had been born in Broome, Schoharie County in 1858.[2] In the early 1860s, his next two children were born Middleburgh, Schoharie Co, NY.[2]
Death
George W. Laraway died on December 20, 1864 at Andersonville Prison. He had been captured at Petersburg, Va. and sent to Andersonville Prison, where he had been admitted to the hospital on October 11, 1864. He died in the prison hospital of scurvy[1] (also known as scorbutus). He was buried at Andersonville in grave number 12313.[1]
After his death on March 17, 1869, his wife Nancy married John J. Willman (B. unk, D. Nov 28, 1879). She ultimately died on February 27, 1923.
