Birth

Abner Hungerford was born in Berne[1] in about 1842 to Elisha Hungerford (B. Dec 12, 1807, D. May 5, 1874) and Sarah Blakeman (B. abt 1808, D. May 1, 1870).[2]

Occupation

Prior to his enlistment in the 7th Heavy Artillery Regiment in the Civil War, Abner worked as a farmer.[1]

Death

Abner Hungerford was captured on June 16, 1864 and sent to Andersonville prison. He died four months later on October 15, 1864 at Millen, Georgia, which was the location of the Confederate Fort Lawton. He is buried at the Beaufort National Cemetery, grave #2479.
