Birth
Homer A. Gallup was born May 3, 1863[1], the son of Lorenzo Gallup[1] (May 4, 1836 - May, 1914)[2][3] and Polly Allen[3][1] (February 3, 1838 - June 4, 1914)[2]. His sister was:

Occupation
Homer Gallup was a farmer who became a teacher for a few years and then became a mailman delivering mail[1] first by horse and buggy and then by automobile. It is believed he had one of the first cars in East Berne, a 1915 Ford.
Marriage and Children
On Homer July 12, 1893, married M. Fannie Martin[5] (Mary Frances Martin) (September 25, 1868 - November 20, 1942)[2]. Fannie was the daughter of Abraham Martin (1835 - 1913)[2] amd Hannah E. Strevell (September 9, 1841 - 1929)[2] They had one daughter:
- Camille Gallup (Mrs. Chester A. Warner)[1] born September 25, 1868[2].
Death
Homer A. Gallup died on April 24, 1949, and is buried in the Westerlo Rural Cemetery in Westerlo[1].
Obituary
Homer A. Gallup, Former Teacher, Died on Sunday Homer A. Gallup, a resident of the East Berne area most of his life, died suddenly Sunday. He was 86.
A former school teacher and rural mail carrier, Mr. Gallup was born at Valley Falls, May 3, 1863, son of Lorenzo D. and Polly Allen Gallup. He moved to the East Berne area early in his life.
After teaching school for 30 years, Mr. Gallup became a rural mail carrier ou of the East Berne post office. He served in this position for 15 years, until his retirement.
A member of the Berne Masonic Lodge and first patron of the Uhai Chapter, Eastern Star, he was also a member of the East Berne Lutheran church.
His wife, the former Frances Martin to whom he was married in 1893, died in 1912.
Only immediate survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Chester Warner (Camille Gallup) of Warner's Lake, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the East Berne Lutheran church. Rev. Russell B. Greene, pastor of the Berne and East Berne churches, officiated. The Berne Masonic Lodge conducted a Masonic service at the funeral parlors Tuesday night. Burial was a Westerlo.
