Birth

Ebenezer Williams was born in 1760 in Stonington, CT.

Military

Ebenezer enlisted at Stonington, CT in the Fall of 1777 and served as a private in Colonel Wells’s Regiment of the Connecticut Line in the Revolutionary War. He served 3 months and was discharged. He enlisted again in the Summer of 1779 in the same regiment and served 9 months and was discharged. The soldier was not involved in any major battles.

Marriage & Children

Ebenezer’s wife’s name was Lydia, and she was born in 1766 probably in Connecticut. They were likely married at about 1787. They came to the area of Berne that became Knox in 1795. Their known children were:

  • Sarah Williams b. about 1790 at Stonington, CT
  • Rebecca Williams
  • Henry Williams b. 1791 at Stonington, CT.
  • Lydia Williams b. November 5, 1800 at Knox, married Perez Frink, Jr.

Death

Ebenezer died on April 21, 1842 and Lydia died on July 27, 1842. They’re buried beside each other at the Old Knox Cemetery.
