Alexander was born in Berne on May 27, 1842, a son of Dexter Dyer and Mary Pier. [1]

Alexander died on May 8, 1930 at Pittsfield, PA[4], and was buried at the Youngsville Cemetery, Youngsville, Warren Co., PA. His wife, Emma, died on January 10, 1935.[1]
