Birth
Delinton Brate was born June 20, 1845 in Reidsville to William Brate (B. May 6, 1810, D. Oct 2, 1887) and Angeline Smith (B. abt 1809, D. Dec 25, 1875).[1] He was one of nine children.

Delinton married Harriet A. Brate, who was born on December 19, 1846 to Henry Brate and Eliza M. Smith.[1]

Death
Delinton's wife Harriet died first on June 20, 1910.[1] He died on April 24, 1918 [5] at Voorheesville, NY[6] They were both buried at the Reidsville Cemetery.[5]
