Birth

Clifford was born in Knox, New York, June 18, 1932, son of the late Clifford C. and Ellen O. (Warner) White.[1]

Marriage and Children

Mr. White is the father of four sons, James M., Matthew J., Steven R., and Clifford C. White III, and one daughter, Laurie L. White.[1]

Occupation

Prior to retiring in 1993 Clifford had been employed by the former Manchester Sand & Gravel Company for 23 years.[1]

Military Service

Clifford served with the Army in Germany with the occupation forces after World War II, and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army and the Marine Corps.[1]

Death

Clifford died peacefully Monday, (July 5, 2004) at his home in Ashford with his family by his side.[1]

Burial

A graveside service with military honors was held Friday, July 9, at 11:30 a.m. in the North Cemetery, corner of Rte. 30 and Browns Bridge Road, Tolland, Connecticut.[1]

Born in Knox, NY, June 18, 1932, son of the late Clifford C. and Ellen O. (Warner) White, he was raised in the Hartford area and had been a resident of Ashford since 1960. Clifford served with the Army in Germany with the occupation forces after World War II, and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army and the Marine Corps. Prior to retiring in 1993 he had been employed by the former Manchester Sand & Gravel Company for 23 years. He was a member of the Rocky Hill American Legion Post and a former member of the Teamsters Union Local 559. Clifford is survived by three sons, James M. White and Matthew J. White, both of Hemet, CA and Clifford C. White III of Portola, CA; a daughter, Laurie L. White of Hemet, CA; a brother and two sisters, Ronald White of Lebanon, Bernice Swimmer of Pembroke Pines, FL and Benita Greenwood of Davie, FL; a granddaughter, Isabelle White and several nieces, nephews and his loving companion Carol E. Keene of Stafford Springs. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Steven R. White and a sister, Elva Muldoon. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, July 9, at 11:30 a.m. in the North Cemetery, corner of Rte. 30 and Browns Bridge Road, Tolland.
