Nelson Billings was born 13 Mar. 1822 in Albany.[1] His parents are unknown.
Marriage and Children
Before 1850 he married Catharine. They had at least two children:[2]
- Edward W. Billings b, 1857, md. Emma D. Stalker
- daughter - married Michael Flynn who died 14 Nov. 1899 at the home of his brother-in-law Edward Billings.[3]

Nelson died 25 Feb 1893, East Berne and was buried at the Beaverdam Cemetery in Berne.

Died, suddenly of heart disease, Saturday morning, Feb. 25, Nelson Billing Sr. aged 70 years, 11 months and 12 days. Mr. Billings was a veteran of the late war. The funeral arrangements were in charge of Chas McCulloch Post G. A. R., No. 645, of Berne. The funeral was held in the Lutheran church, Tuesday, at 10 a. m., when the services were conducted by the Chaplain, Rev. Mr. Pendall and the commander. Mr. G.W. Steiner. The flowers used for this solemn and impressive ceremony were beautiful.
Deceased leaves a son and daughter to mourn his loss. Sources
