Born in Albany, New York, on June 15, 1915,[1] Mr. Arthur was the son of the late Harriet Hallenbeck and Raymond Arthur.[2]


Marriage and Children

Bradford married Helen Frick and they had a son--Thomas B. Arthur.[2]


Occupation

Mr. Arthur was a serviceman for MainCare from 1945 until he retired in 1977.[2]


Military Service

Mr. Arthur was a World War II Army veteran serving in the European Theater.[2]


Death

R. Bradford Arthur, 86, of Westerlo and formerly of Slingerlands, died Thursday, February 21, 2002 at Albany Memorial Hospital.[2]

ALBANY -- R. Bradford Arthur, 86, of Westerlo and formerly of Slingerlands, died Thursday, February 21, 2002 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany, Mr. Arthur was the son of the late Harriet Hallenbeck and Raymond Arthur. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the European Theater. Mr. Arthur was a serviceman for MainCare from 1945 until he retired in 1977. Mr. Arthur was an honorary member and past assistant chief of the Slingerlands Volunteer Fire Department. He also served in many other positions with the fire department and was active with the Boy Scouts. Mr. Arthur was the widower of Helen Frick Arthur who passed away in 1991. He is survived by his son, Thomas B. Arthur of Westerlo; two grandchildren, Katherine and Andrew Arthur; a brother, Donald Arthur; a sister, Estella Yaple; and many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service, which will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Slingerlands Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 99, Slingerlands, NY 12159 or the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, Inc., 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206.
